Paddy is my horse of a lifetime. He was the naughtiest youngster I have ever ridden, with a penchant for bolting, bucking and anything else he could think of to avoid work! But we learnt together and came up the ranks to have some wonderful results at the highest level - the pinnacle of which was our 7th placing at the London Olympics.
In addition, we finished 8th at Badminton the following year, in what was widely regarded as the highest quality field ever assembled there. We were also 6th at Blenheim and had numerous other top three-star placings together.
He is only a little horse, but with an enormous heart. You would never have looked at him and said he would become a four-star horse, but after getting over his teenage years, he would give everything he had to succeed, and adored the big occasions.
He is now enjoying a slower pace of life but is still keeping everyone on their toes, and is still impossible to hack out on bin day!!
