Good day at Weston Park
Forgetting the bitter wind which nearly blew us all away, it was a great day at Weston Park with all three horses performing super in all three phases and coming home in the placings.
Fernhill Adventure was 7th in th O/I - with a 32 dressage - which did have him in second after that phase as it was a hard marked section, but the wind really got up his bum and he was wild in the jumping phases to have a rail and a steady cross-country. I was still thrilled with him as it was only his second run this year and I don't mind them feeling well at their one-days - at least they're having fun! Biscuit will go to Ballindenisk or Withington next for his step up to three starr.
Wasting Light was 5th in his O/I section with a 30 dressage, a very unlucky rail in an otherwise foot perfect round, and he bombed around cross-country and gave me a brilliant ride. He goes to Ballindenisk next for the CCI**.
And last but not least was Kings Advocate who I am riding for Michele and Malcolm Hedley while his normal jockey Chris Hall recovers from an operation on his hand. I had just ridden him for the week before but his schooling from Chris showed through and he finished 4th in his Intermediate with a 28 dressage and fast double clear. He goes to Belton next weekend for the CIC**. So all in all a good day, and a huge thank you to everyone involved for braving the elements!
