Fernhill Adventure (Biscuit) and Arco BB (Archie) went to Chatsworth on Sunday for the Advanced and both gave me brilliant last runs before their Spring 3-days at Bramham and Tattersalls respectively with Biscuit coming 6th and BB 10th in very competitive classes. It was a good end to a busy week with all horses coming back with top ten finishes, only one out of the twenties in the dressage and only one pole knocked!
I was particularly pleased with both tests at Chatsworth with BB scoring a personal best at Advanced for a 29 and 4th after dressage, and Biscuit a 27.6 and 3rd in his section. BB jumped the most amazing clear show-jumping and Biscuit was unlucky to have one rail where he was a bit green in the big atmosphere there, but he really grew as the round went on and keeps improving with every outing.
Arco BB show-jumping- Advanced
BB was quite keen to go faster cross-country but with Tatts only 2 weeks away I had the handbrake on - as although the ground was as good as could be and a lot of work had been done, he could have done with a drop more rain. He came back in 10th place and another good consistent placing this year.
Biscuit was having only his third run at this level having upgraded at Ballindenisk CIC*** at the end of April, and then come 4th at Withington two weeks ago. He again showed what a class act he is with another super round for 6th. Again I didn't go quick to trouble the winners as the plan is to take him to Bramham and the ground was drying up a bit much but I was thrilled with how he went and he feels like a true star in the making.
