Upton marked the maiden voyage for our new 3.5 tonne 2-horse lorry from Empire Coachbuilders. We had just received delivery two days before so it was very exciting to take Jensen and Kiwi out in it! They marked the occasion with very good runs.
Niff with Kiwi, me with Grizzle, and Sally with Jensen. This was about Take 20 - here is a sample of the earlier shots....
Jensen is such an exciting 5yr old and followed up his win at Little Downham and 2nd at Purston with another 2nd here in the BE100. As he is already qualified for the 5yr old Championships from his win at Little Downham he is now ineligible for the age classes, but he has just been so consistent, jumping a superb double clear on a 27 dressage and is such a little professional. He loves his work, but also has a great cheeky attitude and does NOT need to be told how good he is, as he is well aware!
Kiwi did a 24 dressage, and jumped super but was really unlucky to have the last fence down. He has got a fantastic natural technique with his knees around his ears, but is still a bit green about keeping the same rhythm. He is such a fun horse though, and improves every day. He is only 6 and I think there's a lot more to come, especially as he is a complete natural cross-country.
I should also mention that Hollie and Albert (Doodle Jump) had a great run around their BE100 the day before - with a super 27 dressage, one down and clear cross-country with less than 10 time faults!!! Getting a bit quicker with each run!!!!
